Listerine Smart Rinse and Agent(It turns your teeth blue where you need to brush! Avery thinks it's so cool!) mouthwashes can be found on clearance for $1.42-$2.95 at CVS right now. Use the BOGO and $1/1 coupons for a pretty awesome deal! I just got these two for $.42!! These mouthwashes are usually over $5 a piece! It's hit or miss though...I've been to three different CVS's this week and all of them had them priced differently. One not on clearance at all! Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

Call Me C-R-A-Z-Y Day 3
Today was another success.
Breakfast: Mini-cakes I made last nite (kids were thrilled!)
Lunch: Frozen chicken bites/ pineapple
Dinner: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy (which I made myself from the grease from the chicken!!), and peaches
Fruit that we have had this week is from a can or jar. No fresh fruit. :( That is definitely something I will have to budget in at least every other week! We LOVE our fresh fruit!
Entertainment: Invited friends over for fun in the pool in the backyard.
Budget spent: $0
Budget left: $18.10

Call me C-R-A-Z-Y Part 2b
Wow!! This is challenging!
Entertainment tonight: Family went to neighborhood pool (FREE!)
Walgreens trip:
Huggies Wipes 64ct: .79 ---$2.79 (used $2 coupon from Walgs flyer found in-store)
*****THIS IS A MUST FOR EVERY MOTHER!! PICK UP A STACK OF THOSE COUPON BOOKLETS AND EVERYTIME YOU GO IN, PICK UP A BOX!!!******
Rice Krispies 2 boxes: have to check on this. I thought they were on sale for 2/$5, then I had (2) $1 off coupons, so they should have been 2/$3, then $2 in RR. But, they rang up 2/$8. :(
Milk 2 gal 2.99ea
Kraft single Easy Mac: 4/.50ea. Used (2) $1/2 manu. coupons stacked with Walgs flyer coupon $1/4.
Chips Ahoy: Sale 2/$5. Used .75/2 manu stacked with Walgs coupon $1/1. Unfortunately, it didn't work, so the mgr just changed the price of 1, but it still should have been $1 less. :(
2 dozen eggs: sale .99ea
Flinstones Vitamins: $6.99 used $1 manu coupon + $2 Walgs coupon from flyer
Also, Mentos gum, and marshmallows!
Total: $6.90 (should have been about half that because of Rice Krispies and Chips Ahoy mess-up)
Saved:$35.54
Budget used: $6.90
Budget left: $18.10
***FYI: The flyer at the front of the stores seems to be confusing everyone. On the front of the coupons, it is pretty clear it is a Walgreens coupon, which means it can be stacked. However, on the back, in very small print it says it is a manufacture coupon for Walgreens. I have checked other blogs, and some people have no problem with them going thru, while others have said they beeped and the mgr will not do it. My mgr seems to think they are Walgs coupons, but I think I will contact corporate and find out. So, just know if you are stacking them, they may or may not work.

Call me C-R-A-Z-Y!!
I decided to challenge myself to not spend more than $25 this week on groceries, household items, clothing etc. I wanted to ONLY spend $25 on EVERYTHING, but as I awoke this morning, I remembered I had a dr. appointment today, med refill, $65 for car registration, $25 for contacts...you know the unavoidable things. So, I changed it to the groceries, etc. I challenged 3 friends to the same thing, and we have to report to each other this coming Sunday. I hope to update you everyday on what I am cooking, what I purchased, what sales I found, what coupons I used, etc...so maybe you can do the same! This will be a learning week, but I hope to implement a similar thing for my budget every month. We shall see!
Today:
Entertainment: went to friends' house while I was a dr.
Food:
Breakfast: donuts, cereal
Lunch: friend's house (thanks, Mary!)
Dinner: hamburger helper
Dessert: BlueBell ice cream!!
Money Spent:
-dr. visit
-car reg
-$0 on groceries, etc

.40 Walgreens trip!!!
So, I have not been so great with couponing lately. I save a lot, but I am not planning thoroughly enough, so I spend more than I would like (missing coupons, things ringing up wrong etc.) I spent quite a bit of time last night working on this, which was made a lot easier by post on Hip2Save. I gathered my coupons, wrote my list, triple checked it, and even wrote down possible items I would need to make the amt I needed to use my check. (I received a $25 check for transferring a presc back to Walgreens from Target--which I got a $10 gift card for a Target when I switched it there!!)
Here is what I did: deal from Hip2Save
**********
4 Jars of Ragu Pasta Sauce- on sale 2/$4
Buy 4 Skippy Peanut Butters-- on sale 2/$4
Buy 1 Vitamin Shampoo & Conditioner (13 oz) $3.99
Buy 1 Gum Toothbrush 2 pack $3.49 (out of stock--rec'd rain check)
Buy 5 boxes of Pop-Tarts $2 each
Total=$33.48
Coupons:Use 2 $1/2 Ragu coupons from the 8/2RP
Plus, use 4 .50 Skippy coupons from the 8/2RP
Use the $1 Gum coupon from the 6/21RP (did not have that coupon)
Use 2 $1/2 Pop-Tart coupons from the 8/2RP
Plus, use 1 .55 coupon from here
Total=$25.93
Then use the $5 off $25 coupon
Pay $20.93 for all the above
BUT then get back a $10 Register Reward for the Ragu & Skippy,
a$3.99 Register Reward for the Vitamin shampoo
$3.49 Register Reward for the Gum toothbrush
$5 Register Reward for the Pop-Tarts.
Final cost after the Register Rewards FREE + a $1.55 moneymaker! Pretty sweet deal, huh?
**********
Here are the slight changes I made:
Since I had a $25 check, my total had to be $25 after the $5 coupon. (This $5 coupon is on the Walgreens site, but only good for 2 days Aug 5th-6th).
So, I added:
3 bottles of Hydrogen Peroxide (I am completely out) and used 3/$1 coupon from Walgs flyer
2 Scotch tape (bogo free sale, then used 1 .50 coupon)
5 dessert dishes .20 each (actually- I am reading receipt and these did not ring up 50% off, but it still worked with my total, so I'm not going to complain)
4 jell-o (used in-ad coupon with coupons from here) there are also coupons at the end of coupons.com I found
Did not do Gum toothbrushes
My total was $25.40!! So, I used my $25 check, had to pay .40 oop and received $19 RR!!!
I am so excited about this!! This makes me want to really take more time and be more careful when couponing.
Oh--Fran on Hip2Save said that she has bought gift cards with $10 RR. She has done this more than once with no problem. I am going to try it!! This is a great idea if you have RR that are about to expire, but nothing you want to buy! She said she has only tried on high dollar ones. I will let you know how my experience goes! (Oh- she said don't ask, because they will tell you no, but if they just scan it, it works!)

Walgreen:Kids Activity Book
I saw on Hip2save at the bottom of this weeks deals list that Walgreens has a kids activity book available with store coupons. They don't expire till March 2010! And I noticed a few of them can be used with manufactors coupons we already have from the paper inserts. They are located by the pharmacy and are $.99. They are hard to see...at my store (discovery and 183) they were low, attached to a basket of item on display, facing the back wall.
I also bribed my kids by saying I was getting them the book if they were good and stopped asking for stuff! ;-)

Check out this upcoming deal!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Hip2Save, I just found this AWESOME deal coming up!!!
If you already used your $2.50 coupon from last Sunday on the Target deal, try to look on Ebay. I just ordered 20 for $6.99 shipped. I may have several extra, so my family gets first dibs, (or those of you that have given me coupons lately!), but let me know if you are interested, and I will put your name on a list.
Here is deal:
*********
On another note, if you have NOT used the $2.50 Finish/Electrasol coupons from the 7/12SS yet, then save them for the week of 8/2 at CVS!
They will be FREE! Wahoo!
The Electrasol 20 ct boxes will be priced at 2/$9-- buy $20 worth, get a $10Ecb!
Deal Scenario:
Buy 5 for a total of $22.50
Use 5 $2.50 coupons from the 7/12SS
Pay $10Get back a $10Ecb

The ones at Target were 35 ct, I believe, for .99 w/ coupon, so if you got rain checks (I got one) you may want to add it up and see if your rain check would be a better deal.
